History and traits[]

Belles first appeared in September 1, 1939. The first Belle to be awakened was Karl Galster. [1] While they pledge allegiance to the nation that built them, Belles can and will refuse to take orders that they do not agree with. Rather, they will prioritize the orders of a Captain of their choosing, which may be of any nation. [2] Belles are awakened with some preexisting knowledge from their previous incarnations, [3] as well as other learned abilities such as writing [4]. Their namesakes are an important point of their memories: they can remember what happened to ships with their name, knowledge relating to their namesake, and even have a weak psychic connection with others ships of their name. [5]

Powers[]

The Belles' main ability is that of strengthening their warship, including any aviation associated with it. [6] The presence of an awakened Belle increases strength, speed, reliability and other attributes of their ship, allowing them to take on the Morgana ships and even entire normal, unawakened fleets. Belles cannot be captured or killed by regular means, [2] and are only harmed by attacks done on their ship. Belles have also been shown with several other supernatural powers, including the capability to detect Morganas and their names [7] and to communicate telepathically with the Captain and others, with the possibility of even developing mind control powers. [8]

In-game[]

In-game, Belles are a player's main units. They can be recruited (or Rescued), added to different fleets, sent on Cruises and Battles, and strenghtened by leveling and attaching Equipment and Vestures. Recruiting a Belle also unlocks her story.
